I too used to swim for the club. I also went on the trip to Madiera!. I am really keen for my two sons to start swimming for the club as well. A few more lessons to go yet though. Swimming for the club was a brilliant experience and gave me great stamina to be do well at other sports aswell.

Great to read that the club is still going strong and in a healthy state. We had some great time in the 1980's with National Age Group champions and trips abroad.
Keep the good work going!
I used 2 swim 4 the club and went all over the country with the club(also the famous trip 2 Maderia) had some cracking laughs with friends and coaches. If u read this b4 the 3rd October 2009 the please come 2 the Firestation Pub in WhitleyBay at 2pm for a get together.

It’s great to see that Tynemouth club is still going strong. Back about 5 or 6 years ago when I was training at my peak the coaches at the time allowed me to jump in and do a few sessions with the club whilst I was visiting family so that my performance wouldn’t taper off over the week. I've always been grateful for this and even though I have now branched into computing, swimming is still playing a big role in my life and I try to incorporate the two whenever I can. It’s great to see the club online as well. All the best to the club from a very grateful swimmer.
