A GREAT weekend of racing from Tynemouth swimmers saw many return home with new pbs, some winning medals and gaining new regional qualifying times.

Many were up against older swimmers with the age categories split between 10-12, 13/14 and 15/over. Niamh Savory (11) managed to win an impressive seven gold and one silver from her eight races, recording new club records for 100 and 200 back, 200 breast and 200 IM.

Jamie Beach (11) won a silver and three bronzes despite facing swimmers a year older, while Anna Carr (11) won a silver in the 200 fly and a bronze in the 100 fly, and Jasper Hall (11) a bronze in the 50 breast.

Jack Kelso (12) meanwhile won two silvers, in the 200 breast and 200 free, plus a bronze in the 100 breast, and George Watson (13) won a silver in the 200 back.

Many younger swimmers also recorded personal best times with some top-10 finishes, despite racing against older competitors, while there were also some solid pbs for swimmers further up the age categories.
