ELEVEN Tynemouth swimmers were at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh for the East District Open Championships.

Lucy Hedley (15) took first place in both the 100 free and 800 free and second in the 200 free, while Ella Took (15) came first in the 400 free, second in the 800 free and, with a new club record, 200 fly, plus third in the 100 fly and fifth in the 50 fly.

Amy Heron (15) secured second place in the 50 back and also reached finals in the 200 IM, 100 back and 50 free, and Jack Ashurst finished fourth in the final of the 200 fly plus made the finals of the 100 fly and 50 breast.

In the 14 years age group, Katie Stobbs finished second in the 200 breast plus reached finals in the 50 breast (5th) and 100 breast (6th), while Kathryn Bell secured a place in the final of the 200 breast.

Maddie Wilson (13) took third place in the 200 breast, plus made the finals of the 50 breast and 100 breast, and Emily Hedley (13) reached finals in the 200 back, finishing sixth, and 100 back, plus finished seventh in the 800 free and 10th in the 400 free.

Arianna Stokes (13) reached the final of the 50 free and finished 11th in the 400 IM with a big pb, Lauren Heppell finished eighth in the final of the 200 fly and 11th in the 400 free, while Eva Clapperton reached the final of the 50 back and came 17th in the 400 free.
