Tynemouth's Spring Gala saw club swimmers breaking records, winning medals and achieving regional qualifying times, with many more recording new short course PBs.

Jasper Hall broke not one but three male 10-year-old breaststroke records for the 50, 100 and 200 metres, while three more records were broken in the nine-year-old age group, by Ona Gallagher (female 50 free), Erin Jones (female 50 breast) and Oscar Makepeace (male 200 free).

Two female records fell in the 1500 metres, Katie Stobbs in the 14-year-olds age group and Leonie Aldridge in the 16 years.

It was a golden weekend for the club's nine-year-old swimmers, with Daniel Payton taking home six golds plus two silvers and a bronze, Erin Jones winning five golds and a silver, Oscar Makepeace three golds, Joey Lau two golds, three silvers and a bronze, Emily Jackson two golds, two silvers and three bronzes and Ona Gallagher two golds, a silver and a bronze, while Mitchel McDermott won a bronze.

The 10-year-old age group saw Ruby Dann win two golds, Owen Brown win one gold, a silver and a bronze, Jasper Hall win five silvers and a bronze and Lennon Hulme two bronzes, while Molly-Rosanna Young and Tamzin Zajac both won a bronze.

Max Hartis won four golds and three silvers in the 11 years age group, Katie Coventry also took four golds plus two bronzes, Jamie Beach won two golds, a silver and a bronze, including an impressive 1500 metres time, Niamh Savory won two golds, one with an excellent 800 metres swim, Anna Carr won three silvers and a bronze, Isobel Munnoch a gold and two bronzes, Hannah Gauld a silver and a bronze, Thomas Connell four bronzes, and Rowan Douglas and Toby Ross a bronze each.

Among the 12-year-olds, Eva Clapperton won three gold medals, Ava Perkins a gold, three silvers and a bronze, Benjamyn Hartridge and Jack Kelso both won two silvers and a bronze (Jack's including an impressive first 1500 metres time), Matthew Chandler won a silver and a bronze, Matt Stewart a silver, Calum Robson two bronzes while Joseph Chandler won one bronze, as did Freya Gallagher.

Jack Ashurst won two golds and a silver in the 13-14 years age group, Lauren Heppell two golds, James Haye a gold, two silvers and two bronze, Kathryn Bell a gold, silver and bronze, Myles Harding two silvers and a bronze, Abigail Charlton one silver and a bronze, Eve Rudd and Katie Stobbs a silver, while Evie Hartridge, Amy Heron, Bethany Heron, Charlotte Payton and George Watson won one bronze each.

In the 15s and over, Daire Treumann won two golds, two silvers and a bronze, Luke Baker two golds and a silver, Sophie Stobbs two golds, Erin Purdy one gold, two silvers and a bronze, Leonie Aldridge one gold, Matthew Hayes two silvers and a bronze, Emily Morris a silver and three bronzes and Anna Sheasby one silver.
