The first weekend of the N&D Championships (14 and under) at Sunderland Aquatic Centre saw Tynemouth ASC swimmers recording long course PBs, reaching finals, winning medals and breaking club records.

Niamh Savory (11 years age group) broke four club records on her way to winning eight gold medals, while Maddie Wilson (13) broke two in winning a gold and a bronze. Jasper Hall (11) broke another club record in the final of the 50 breast, finishing fifth in the final.

The other medal winners over the weekend were: Katie Stobbs (14) who won a gold (200 breast) and a bronze (50 breast); Jamie Beach (11) with a silver (50 fly) and two bronzes (100 fly and 100 free) and Katie Coventry (11) with a bronze and a huge pb in the 200 breast.

Other Tynemouth swimmers reaching finals were Kathryn Bell (14) in the 200 breast (5th) and 200 back (10th); Owen Brown (10) in the 100 fly (8th); Anna Carr (11), 100 fly (4th with a big pb) and 100 free (10th); Matthew Chandler (13), 50 breast (7th) and 200 breast (8th with a massive pb); Ruby Dann (11), 50 fly (8th); Emily Hedley (13), 200 back (4th) plus 4th in the 400 free; Lauren Heppell (13), 100 free (4th), 100 fly (5th), 200 IM (7th) and 5th in the 400 free; Jack Kelso (12), 200 breast (5th) and 50 breast (7th); Ava Perkins (12), 200 breast (4th), 100 free (5th), and 50 breast (6th); Arianna Stokes (13), 100 fly (8th), 50 fly (8th) and 200 breast, and George Watson (13), 200 breast (6th), 50 fly (7th) and 100 free (9th).

Other swimmers representing Tynemouth at the Championships were Lottie Christopher (14) with a pb in the 200 breast; Eva Clapperton (13), 400 free (10th) and 50 fly; Hannah Gauld (11) in the 50 and 200 breast; Benjamyn Hartridge (13) in the 200 back and 200 breast and Erin Jones (10) in the 50 and 200 breast.
