TYNEMOUTH swimmers started the new season with a bang as they made the long trip to Teesside for the Richmond Dales Iain Young Back to Pool Meet at Middlesbrough’s Neptune Centre.
In the nine years age group, Iris Moir secured a scintillating seven gold medals, Willow Anderson weighed in with a gold and Samuel Brown took home a silver, while amongst the 10-year-olds Olivia Dann won a silver and Mason Sainthouse a bronze.
Hannah Gray led the way in the 11 years category, with five gold medals and a pair of silvers, Abby Coventry took home four gold medals, Thomas Northey a silver and bronze, Hari Diddee a silver and Francesca Moir a bronze.
The 12 years age group saw Katy Otterson complete the full set of medals with a gold, silver and bronze while Annabel Cowens bagged a bronze.
As for the 13-year-olds, Ruby Dann won medals at the double with a brace of golds and silvers, Beth Richardson won a gold and four silvers, Aidan Turner bagged a gold, two silvers and a bronze, Olivia Willis won a silver and five bronze medals, while both Kajetan Guzikiewicz and Adam Meikle won a silver and bronze apiece.
Katie Coventry led the charge for the 14-year-olds with four golds and a bronze, Jai Diddee won a gold, silver and two bronzes, Molly-Rosanna Young two bronzes while Megan Comrie took home a bronze.
In the 15 years and over category, Katie Stobbs (17) won a gold and silver, and Jack Ashurst (17) a hat-trick of bronze medals.
