There were some good pbs, several medals and a few new club records when Tynemouth swimmers visited Chester-le-Street recently for their Junior Gala.

Owen Brown led the way for the 10-year-olds winning the full set of medals, gold, silver and bronze, while there was a silver lining for Emily Jackson, who took two silver medals home with her.

Niamh Savory also won gold in the 11 years age group, setting a new club record in the 800m free to boot, with Ruby Dann securing two silvers, Molly-Rosanna Young one silver and Sam Morton a bronze.

As for the 12-year-olds, Katie Adams took home a gold and two bronzes, while Thomas Connell won three silvers and a bronze and Isobel Munnoch one bronze.

Elsewhere, Emily Hedley (13) won a silver, as did Ella Took (15) also setting a new club record in the 800m free, but that record was quickly broken by Lucy Hedley on her way to 800m free gold, breaking the open record for the same event too.
