Tynemouth swimmers scooped a hatful of medals and put in some excellent performances at Dunston Pool during the Gateshead and Whickham ASC Summer Meet, the final local gala of the season.

Starting in the 9/10 years age category, Mason Sainthouse (9) won four gold medals, three silvers and a couple of bronzes, Gabriel Rennison-Rae (9) weighed in with a couple of golds, a silver and two bronzes, Iris Moir (9) took a gold and a bronze, Anja Schrocksnadel (9) three silvers and three bronzes, while Oscar North (9) and Willow Anderson (9) took a bronze apiece.

In the same category, Thomas Northey (10) romped to an impressive eight gold medals, Millie Torre (10) took a silver and bronze, Beatrice Hawkins (10) a silver and Francesca Moir (10) a bronze.

Abby Coventry (11) competing in the 11/12 years age group won no less than four golds, four silvers and a bronze, Hannah Gray (11) secured two golds and three bronzes, Hari Diddee (11) won a silver, Annabel Cowens (11) won three bronzes and Sophie Robson (11) one bronze.

Annie Harrison led the way for the 12-year-olds with five golds, a silver and a bronze, with Olivia Northey (12) winning a silver and bronze.

In the 13/14 years category, Beth Richardson (13) won a hat-trick of three golds, Olivia Willis (13) won a gold, two silvers and two bronzes, Anna Johnson (13) won a gold and silver, Daniel Payton (13) won a silver and bronze, Jai Diddee (13) won a silver while Jeremy Tsz Kin Wu (13) won a bronze. Meanwhile Thomas Connell (14) won three bronze medals.

In the 15-plus age group, James Hayes (17) won two golds while Matthew Chandler (15) and Jack Ashurst (17) won a bronze apiece.
