THE final gala of the season saw Tynemouth swimmers secure medals and some nice personal best times at Gateshead & Whickham's Summer Meet at Dunston Leisure Centre.

Joey Lau led the way for the nine-year-olds with gold in the 50 free, and took a bronze in the 50 fly, with two impressive pbs. Emily Jackson (9) was also among the medals, taking two silvers in the 50 and 200 free.

Erin Jones (10) also won gold in the 50 fly and took silver in the 400 IM, while Jai Didde (10) took gold in the 50 free and silver in the 100 breast. Fellow 10-year-olds Heidi Carr, Ruby Dann, Beth Larkin and Daniel Payton all took a silver apiece.

Molly-Rosanna Young (11) won silver in the 200 IM, with Megan Comrie (11) taking silver in the 50 free and Hannah Gauld (11) securing a bronze in the 50 free.

In the 13-year-old age group, Benjamyn Hartridge won gold in the 200 IM, while there were double bronzes for both Mili Diddee, in the 100 and 200 free, and Douglas Gauld, in the 50 free and 100 breast.

Last but certainly not least there was another gold for Abigail Charlton (14) in the 50 breast, and Emily Morris (15) took the full set of gold, silver and bronze in the 100 back, 50 back and 50 fly respectively.
