THERE was a festive feel to the Middlesbrough ASC Christmas gala, with gifts of gold, silver and bronze for plenty of Tynemouth swimmers - plus a fair few pbs and some new club records.

Erin Jones led the way for the 10-year-olds with eight medals, four golds and four silvers, while Oscar Makepeace won three golds and two silvers, and broke two club records in the 50m free and 50m back.

Fellow 10-year-old Ona Gallagher won a gold and a silver, Emily Jackson a gold and two bronzes, Owen Brown a gold and bronze, Joey Lau two silvers and a bronze, while Daniel Payton won a silver and bronze and Isaac Stokes a bronze.

In the 11 years age group, Jasper Hall broke the club record in the 200m breast and won two golds, a silver and bronze, while Anna Carr took home four bronze medals.

Jack Kelso (12) secured two golds, two silvers and three bronzes, while fellow 12-year-old Ava Perkins won two golds and a bronze, Katie Adams won two silvers and Katie Coventry a silver and a bronze.

In the 13 years age group, Emily Hedley broke a club record in the 200m back and won three golds and two silvers, Lauren Heppell took home two golds, a silver and two bronzes, Arianna Stokes a gold and two bronzes, plus George Watson won three silvers and two bronzes and Benjamyn Hartridge a bronze.

In the 14 years age group, Katie Stobbs secured a gold, two silvers and a bronze, Myles Harding won a gold, silver and bronze, while Lauren Comrie and James Hayes won a gold apiece.

Elsewhere, Evie Hartridge (15) won a bronze, Leonie Aldridge (16) won four silvers and a bronze, breaking a club record in the 400m free to boot, Luke Baker (16) won a silver, while 17-year-olds Matthew Hayes and Harriet Lee both won a bronze each.
