Tynemouth swimmers returned to the Sunderland Aquatic Centre recently for the Northumberland & Durham Teams Day, combining their respective talents to win more medals and breaking a number of club records to boot.

The 13/14 female 200 free team, consisting of Arianna Stokes, Lauren Heppell, Emily Hedley and Eva Clapperton, won gold to become the new county champions in that event, setting a new club record in the process.

There was a silver medal for the 9/10 female 200 free team of Freya Beach, Annabel Cowans, Hannah Gray and Abby Coventry, with the same line-up also securing bronze in the 9/10 200 medley.

Another silver arrived in the girls’ 11-14 200 free for Erin Jones, Anna Carr, Ava Perkins and Arianna Stokes.

The boys got the day off to a flying start with bronze in the 11-14 200 free, Oscar Makepeace, Jamie Beach, Jack Kelso and Calum Robson teaming up to good effect.

There were two more bronze medals, the first in the 13/14 female 200 medley, secured by Emily Hedley, Maddie Wilson, Arianna Stokes and Lauren Heppell, and another in the 11/12 male 200 medley thanks to the efforts of Oscar Makepeace, Jasper Hall, Jamie Beach and Sam Morton.
