TYNEMOUTH ASC swimmers continued to do the club proud when competing at the British and English summer championships, and the National Open Water Championships.

Three swimmers represented the club at the British Summer Championships at Tollcross ISC in Glasgow, Lucy Hedley (15) winning a bronze in the final of the 400 free with a superb five-second pb. She also set a new club record in the 1500 free on her way to a top-ten finish, coming home in seventh place, plus secured a fantastic fifth-place finish in the 800 free. Lucy also competed in the 100 and 200 free events.

Will Morris (17) also set a new club record in reaching the final of the 50 fly with a time of 25.88, finishing tenth in the final, while Ella Took (15) secured eighth-place finishes in both the 1500 free and 800 free, plus reached the final of the 400 free, coming ninth, and competed in the 200 free.

The Swim England Summer Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield also saw three swimmers flying the flag for Tynemouth. Emily Hedley (13) finished 12th in the 1500 free, Ella Took (15) finished 15th in the 200 fly, while Maddie Wilson (13) came home 17th in the 200 breast.

Last but not least four Tynemouth swimmers competed at the Swim England National Open Water Championships at Thrybergh Country Park in Yorkshire, Lucy Hedley (15) securing a superb silver medal in the 3km event with Ella Took (15) finishing 14th. In the 2km event, Emily Hedley (13) crossed the finish line in seventh place with Lauren Heppell (13) finishing in 16th place.
