The TASC Junior League competed in the final round of N&D Division 1 on Sunday and came out on top in a vary closely fought heat. At the half way stage Tynemouth were tied in equal first place with Newcastle Swim Team, with Gateshead and Wickham close by in 3rd.

A strong second half of the heat saw strong performances and tight fast racing in both the individual events, culminating in a very exciting canon relay in which Tynemouth made a fantastic comeback only to be held off into second place by a strong NST 8. Fortunately this was enough to secure victory overall by 6 points:

Final Standings:

Tynemouth - 230
Newcastle ST - 224
Gateshead & Whickham - 198
Sunderland - 148
Middlesbrough - 118
Chester le Street - 91

TASC will now compete in the N&D Final hosted at Tynemouth Pool 15th September 2019. Hopefully we can follow on from the previous 2 years to take victory and qualify for the Northern Final.

Talent Camps

In other news the weekend saw both swimmers and coaches selected for Talent Camps across the region. Saturday the N+D Development Camp for 11yr olds Niamh Savory, Ruby Dann, Jamie Beach, Jasper KC-Talent-CampHall and Anna Carr (not present), with Emily Betham also present as a skills coach.

On Sunday Katie Coventry (pictured) attended the Regional Camp 12yrs with Steven Dickinson present as a skills coach.

Great to see Tynemouth Swimmers and Coaches progressing through the Swim England Talent Pathway.
